Azul Tequila
The turquoise building on the highway, with the carved mariachi band standing at the door. Family Mexican cooking in Sebring, Lake Wales and Arcadia.
Three blue houses
All three are painted the same blue, with agaves in the gravel out front. Pick the one you already drive past.
The band at the door
Five mariachis and a dancer in a blue folklórico dress, carved from wood at life size, standing in the gravel outside the Sebring door. Above them, a carved panel of jimadores cutting agave in the field.
You walk past the band on your way in. Lake Wales and Arcadia are the same blue from the road — in Sebring, the band is how you know you have arrived.
Guacamole at your table
Avocado, lime juice, garlic salt, black pepper, onion, cilantro and tomato, mashed in front of you at the table rather than carried out of the kitchen. Say the word when they start and the jalapeño goes in.
The plate that barely fits
Enchiladas under melted cheese, rice, beans in a fried tortilla shell, a tostada leaning on the rim. Across all three towns the thing people write down afterwards is the size of the plate.
The margaritas were well blended and the presentation was off the chain. Catherine Wactlar, on the Arcadia house
The blue goblet
The house margarita comes in a heavy Mexican blown-glass goblet with a cobalt rim and a crust of salt you can see from the next table. Blended or on the rocks, blueberry or Patrón.
Every bar in all three houses pours the same glass. It is the drink people photograph before they drink it.

“The table side guacamole is to flip over. I love it made with the added jalapeño!”
Stacey R Barnes, Sebring
“The food has been delightful — flavorful, good quality, and good-sized portions. They also have some more traditional dishes beyond the usual. The molcajete is superb!”
Andrea Land, Lake Wales
“Their food never disappoints and they have been consistent in flavor and large portions for the many years I have been coming to Arcadia.”
Elizabeth Gallows, Arcadia
